Yeah, if you’re awesome, then you need to let people know it. Your awesomeness needs to be a differential advantage that sets you apart from your competition. If you aren’t showing off your awesomeness on your website, then why not?! It’s to your advantage to showcase how great you are. Doing this will add credibility to you and increase the likelihood of helping you generate business. Having a website is a great way to showcase how great you are. Write a blog to demonstrate your knowledge about the service(s) you offer. Use a blog to show why your products are so great or how they are making a difference in people’s lives. Show off your successes. Give people a reason to believe that you are not only good, but you are better than your competition. Did you close some great real estate deals, sell some beautiful artwork, or do an amazing job catering a wedding or some other event? Let people see what you did by showing it off on your website! You can spend all day saying you’re great, but showing your accomplishments is far better for boosting your credibility than just talking about what you’ve done. I’m just a nobody at the moment. I’ve got professional goals, but I’m nowhere near having my own website; am I?” Great question. Here’s my answer: I want you to look at yourself. Look at your professional goals. Are you trying to build a name for yourself? Are you trying to boost your business? Are you trying to out perform someone else? If the answer is yes, then having a Google-friendly website will help you. Maybe you own a retail store, or you’re a service provider; maybe you own an entire company with 1,000 employees or maybe you are just a single a individual working as a 10-99. Maybe you’re a hobbyist and you want to sell your work. I don’t know who or what your business is, but if you look at your desired future and you see yourself as someone who wants to professionally grow in a specific area, then get a website. That will become the hub of your online marketing, and it will grow as you grow. If you don’t take this advice, then you are very likely limiting your marketing potential.
