According to this article in the Napa Valley Register, City and state officials are moving toward with plans to construct two roundabouts: one to link Highway 29 with downtown Napa and another to replace the complicated five-way junction on the east side of town.
These traffic hubs, which are virtually unseen in the United States until recently, can be found all over Europe and are designed to eliminate traffic signals and keep a steady flow of traffic. Skeptics however see this circuitous traffic design and more of a hindrance to safety versus a help.
What are your thoughts? Do you think the proposed roundabouts will improve traffic flow or just make things worse?
