What started as a chat over coffee between Brittany Brown and Linda Day Harrison well over one year ago finally came to be and the first-ever Toastmasters Experience between CREW Las Vegas and the Morelli House Club #5185332, was born!
Last night we gathered for a social hour at Los Cucos Mexican Cafe and welcomed 20 CREW Las Vegas members to experience what a Toastmasters meeting is all about. No one was put on the spot to speak, other than self-introductions and the regular meeting format was played out from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm to illustrate all of the components that make up a Toastmasters meeting.
Of course, the number one question all night was what is Toastmasters and what is Morelli House? Both of those questions were answered by Suzette Wheeler with her Educational Moment!
Our theme of the meeting was networking and Kristin Baker really went above and beyond to weave the theme of networking throughout the meeting. She was an excellent example of the role of Toastmaster at a meeting.
Anthony Harrell, the club president was fabulous in his role and conducted a successful meeting making everyone feel welcome and fielding questions.
Table Topics is the portion of the meeting where the members practice impromptu speaking. We understand Stacie Allen is the Queen of Table Topics and she did wow the audience with her Table Topic questions pertaining to networking. Jessica Allen led our Word of Day with a word most of chuckled at but realized it is a real word: argy-bargy which actually means quarreling or rambling.
Julius Harris did his icebreaker speech and it was a hit. Kris Hostetter, who is an exceptional speaker and quite proficient did her research speech on the topic of sleeping. Both speakers did a wonderful job of providing the flavor of what Toastmasters is really about.
It was a wonderful collaboration and if you are a corporation, club, church group or any form of a group we would love to give your group a Toastmasters Experience. It is something anyone in business should consider to help improve your communication skills.
History was made on 9.19.19, cool date too! We held the first-ever #ToastmastersExperience (or we think) It was amazing. It was a collaboration between @CREWLasVegas a chapter of the incredible @CREW_Network & the one & only Morelli House (that’s us). #ExcellenceEverytime #Lead pic.twitter.com/TekVbgjWet

tBL was the proud sponsor of the first-ever #ToastmastersExperience! It was a collaboration between @crewlasvegas and @morellihousetm to give #commercialrealestate professionals the actual experience of attending a @toastmastersinternational meeting. It had all of the components of a great evening. The evening began with an hour of socializing and enjoying appetizers and drinks and then was kicked off by an introduction from the CREW Las Vegas President, Mindy Kermes and then a 1-hour demonstration of a Toastmasters meeting. There were 2 speakers, table topics, word of the day, an educational moment and of course the evaluators. The theme of the night was networking and that is exactly what transpired. Thanks to all for joining us. It was a blast. #cre #betterpresentations #publicspeaking #selfdevelopment #confidencebuilding #networking
