As technology advancements continue to emerge leading us into a future of endless possibilities and easier ways of accomplishing everyday tasks, so has the world of real estate technology which allows brokers to fulfill daily tasks with ease. Some of the most revolutionary inventions are found in the iPad, Cloud Computing, and Website technologies which provide greater property exposure, file sharing, and directional location services.
Agents now have the office available on the go with the invention of the iPad, a handheld computer with touch screen capabilities, providing agents with any information they may need to fulfill tasks. Downloading associated Apps to the iPad allows agents to download property brochures, find an exact destination from anywhere they may be, and to use the web as they would on a desktop computer. Additionally, Cloud Computing technology allows for group collaboration and file sharing without requiring members to send files back and forth. Instead, individuals are able to edit and save the same document in the same web location for further editing from other members. A popular choice for cloud collaborations is Google Sites, an online site able to house a variety of documents including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc for editing from anyone shared on the document – from anywhere.
As technological improvements have heightened the ability for people to locate, store and edit information, advancement in social communication has developed as well. Social Media websites have changed the way that companies can communicate with clients and the public in a virtual “social” atmosphere. In this way, all types of communication can be shared for the public to view at their leisure. Sharing is not limited to social information as sites conveying property information are available as well. All of these capabilities make closing deals for both the brokers and their clients, much quicker – and much easier!
