While you can sit at a card table for a few weeks and wait for your furniture to arrive, if you don’t have phones or an internet connection, you can’t get much work done.
Many people think that because we live in such a technological age, we order these things and have them in a few weeks. However, often, that is not the case.
If I am a situation where the lease is being signed and the tenants are moving in right away, I always caution them to order these items before they sign the lease. You can always cancel or postpone the install.
In our written request to the landlord, we ask about the building’s internet providers. This is more important with small buildings, because a cable company isn’t going to install internet for your firm if it costs them $30,000 to do. Also, some landlords want all the cable business to go to a specific carrier.
Don’t forget to submit your change order for phones and internet one to two months in advance of your relocation.
