Kinney joins Fifth Gen Media after most recently serving as Editor in Chief of RCR Wireless News and Enterprise IoT Insights. He brings extensive background in and deep knowledge of the telecommunications and technology industries, particularly in-building wireless systems, the internet of things (IoT), CBRS, 5G and other key drivers of digital transformation.
Kinney studied journalism and literature at the University of Mississippi, then joined McClatchy’s Miami Herald Media Company where he served as a reporter covering a wide range of issues including environmental land use, education policy and politics. He lives in Fayetteville, AR, with his wife Katherine and dog Darla; he’s a member of the local Telecommunications Advisory Board and Digital Inclusion Taskforce.
