Phoenix, Arizona – May 5, 2017 – Just rocks and vacant desert covered the acres of land at the corner of Crismon and Baseline Roads the morning of May 3, 2017. A slight breeze and warm weather already at 8:30 in the morning set the groundbreaking ceremony in motion with breakfast burritos and fresh coffee from Black Rock Coffee Bar. The gated fence that normally surrounds the vacant property was now open to welcome vehicle after vehicle of assorted guests for the gathering. Physical construction will begin on May 15th. Black Rock Coffee Bar will be the first tenants to move into the new property, followed by El Bella Day Spa and Filiberto’s.
The ceremony welcomed all the key contributors including the development team of architects, bankers, friends, family, and the SVN brokerage team. Director of Retail Leasing and Sale Investments, Mary Nollenberger addressed the guests and stood close by to development owner and his wife, Rick and Donna Richmond. Richmond addressed the guests and explained to everyone how long this process has taken to get to the groundbreaking moment and was very thankful for everyone who played a significant role with the upcoming development.
Dan Astle with Architekton stated, “We wanted to choose colors to create something memorable. We want people to experience something different.” The bright orange may be just an ordinary color but the design team has taken this vibrant color to another level. The architectural elements of the rust colored metal above the doors will appear darker during the day but when sunset arrives, it will turn bright during the evening due to the back lighting design element. The lifted doors throughout the village will also bring a unique shopping experience for everyone.
SVN Advisors, Mary Nollenberger, Rommie Mojahed, and Eddie Gonzalez represent the development owner, Rick Richmond. Nollenberger said, “The amenities will include coffee, day spa/relaxation, quick serve restaurant, breakfast café, wine bistro, and fitness as well as service retail to serve the needs of the community.”
