Last week, Josh Lyons, Marketing Director of Sperry Van Ness Southland Commercial, sent us a wonderful “thank you” letter describing the success his brokerage has experienced with working with theBrokerList. We were honored.
But more importantly, we were impressed.
Josh’s team at SVN Southland took full advantage of all of the free perks that come with being a member of theBrokerList, and used them to gain market awareness and promote their brokerage’s brand …. for free.
It is a lesson for anybody running a commercial real estate company website or blog. It provides insight into what CRE companies should be doing to succeed with theBrokerList (ie. promote your brokerage) and what to expect when you’re doing things right.
Now on to the actual letter, we received from Josh:

We started sharing our blog posts with you in February, 2015 and now, only two and a half months later, we are able to share some of our successes with you. — If you mentioned “SouthLand Commercial” to someone last year, chances are, almost nobody outside of Sperry Van Ness would have any idea who you were talking about. Now, because of you, we are regularly and frequently having our branded name and logo appear on your site, in front of thousands of CRE professionals.
We write, and you promote. As a result, we are getting seen and recognized. We value this, because we believe this recognition will lead us to more opportunities in the future. These opportunities may be in the form of more backlinks, special write-ups, actual leads, or something else, but no matter how you cut it, they are opportunities and we like that. — I told our advisors last year that we need to be involved in social media and blogging, because that would brand them as thought leaders in their chosen CRE specializations. We want our advisors to be known as experts in what they do, and being promoted through theBrokerList is a phenomenal way to give them the publicity they need.
Your team has been so kind in letting us include profile pictures and bios with each of our advisors, whenever they publish a blog post to your site. I could probably continue on with the benefits we get from having a relationship with you, but I think the points I made above do a pretty good job framing what we have seen because of you. We truly appreciated what you are doing for us, and we are eager to see continued growth and success for theBrokerList, which will ultimately lead to the further success of SVN | SouthLand Commercial and everyone else who partners with you.
